This CD was recorded When Chata Addy was in his 30’s and living in Ashland, Oregon, in 1980. During this time, it was the help and support from friends, in Ashland, that played a pivotal role in getting this album recorded. The name, “Shi Dah”, means "Thanks" in Chata's Ghanaian language. As a special thanks and homage to those friends who assisted Chata, it was only befitting to name this album “Shi Dah”. This album went on to be released in 1990, and was the first studio recording of Chata’s music in the United States of American. The album reflects rhythms originating from his home country of Ghana, Africa. All of the lead drumming and back-up vocals are by Chata Addy. Please enjoy!!
